Columbia Hills, developed by Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing received the award for Excellence in Affordable Housing at 2019 ULI Washington Trends Conference on April 30, 2019.

Columbia Hills was built as an in-fill in the existing garden-style housing development along Columbia Pike in Arlington, Virginia. It is the first new housing development approved by Arlington County under the Columbia Pike Form Based Code. While comparable aesthetically to market-rate housing projects, Columbia Hills provides an urban affordability to people displaced by new high-end developments in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. Many of the affordable housing projects are low-rise buildings; this high-rise building provides 229 affordable rental units much needed by the local community.
