ASSOCIATES

Victoria Kleyzor, Director of Marketing, has been promoted to an Associate. Victoria has excelled at raising KGD’s profile as a brand ambassador, developing and implementing firm’s short-term and long-term marketing strategy. She continues to build KGD’s marketing department and position the firm for continued growth in existing and new market sectors.

Nia Furr, Staff Architect, was promoted to an Associate. Since joining the firm over 3 years ago, Nia has learned quickly to navigate through the residential and multifamily markets of the DMV area. She led the Construction Administration on the recently completed Delta Towers multifamily project in Washington, DC, while working simultaneously as a designer on the Westminster Church Living project, and Phase II of the Elizabeth Square development. She is using her skills to develop inventive designs with focus ranging on the smallest interior details to the exterior facade design. Nia was a participant of “Design like a Girl” program with District Architecture Center, mentoring the young female architects through navigation of the intricacies of architecture and engineering.

Aileen Horn, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Director of Hospitality, has been elevated to an Associate. She is an advocate for empowering designers and owners to reframe the collective understanding of sustainability and resilience. Aileen is currently leading the design on the Kimpton hotel in Denver, Colorado, and an Autograph Collection by Marriott in Arlington, Virginia. Aileen is an artist passionate about fostering the community’s engagement, creativity and artistic legacy in every project she leads.

Kevin Pennington, RA, LEED AP, Senior Architect and Project Manager, has been promoted to an Associate. A 30- year industry veteran, he brings passion for great architecture and strong leadership to all his work in science and technology, residential and healthcare sectors. His passionate and energetic attitude spans across all phases from a project. He is a Project Architect on the Institute for Defense Analyses, currently under construction in Potomac Yard, and a Project Manager on multi-phased development Elizabeth Square in Silver Spring, MD.

SENIOR ASSOCIATES

D. Matthew Alexander, AIA, NCARB was promoted to a Senior Associate. Matt’s leadership, client focused approach, and dedication to design has led to success and award recognition on multiple projects at KGD. He continues to be a mentor to emerging professionals, spearhead recruitment efforts, and drive new KGD initiatives such as the Research Internship.

Leah Kleinman, AIA, LEED Green Associate has been elevated to a Senior Associate. In almost a decade with KGD, she has succeeded as designer and project architect in preserving design integrity on a wide range of project types and scales – from interior design on large FFRDC, including the Aerospace Corporation to a new 401-unit urban infill project, such as TROVE along the Columbia Pike corridor of Arlington. Leah leads an Education Committee at KGD by constantly engaging young professionals within the firm and providing them with valuable learning programs.

ASSOCIATE PRINCIPALS

Bunthit (Eddy) Rajtboriraks, AIA, NCARB is KGD’s new Associate Principal. He joined KGD (at that time – Kishimoto.Gordon PC), as the firm’s first hire, and was a project leader on some of the Firm’s earliest projects like the E. J. Randolph Building and REHAU’s North American Headquarters, Tower Building. In 2011, Eddy opened KGD Architecture’s branch office in Thailand, and has grown it since. In addition to overseeing area markets and local projects, Eddy continues to be an important part of the larger Firm’s operations as a licensed architect, a member of our Quality Assurance / Quality Control program, part of the Firm’s Standards Committee and a head of the IT Team.

Larry Henderson II has been elevated to an Associate Principal. In the nearly 6 years Larry Henderson has been with KGD he has played a pivotal role in the development and stability of the Interior design practice. His focus on design excellence and client service has broadened the exposure of KGD in multiple sectors of the interiors market. His passion for leadership and employee growth through hands on mentoring has structured the department for permanence into the future.
