The redevelopment of a 39-unit apartment at 1615 18th St. North in Arlington resulted in 249 new affordable units at the building now known as Queens Court.
The Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) recently announced the opening of the transit-oriented community, which is less than one mile from the Rosslyn and Court House Metro stations, near more than 16 bus routes and close to Lee Highway, Interstate 66 and Wilson Boulevard. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance from the apartments.
In addition to replacing the existing 39 apartments and adding 210 more, APAH contributed a 9,000-square-foot park and playground within the community that is open to the public. The park is part of a network created by the Rosslyn Highlands Park Coordinated Open Spaces plan that includes 60,000 square feet of recreation and open space.
