Last week, KGD was honored to be included in celebrating an important milestone for the Red Lion redevelopment project, now called Elara – it’s official topping out in Arlington, Virginia. The previous topping out event, staged in early July, marked the end of the project’s concrete pouring.

Led by owner and developer Orr Partners with general contractor CBG Building Company, Elara will be an eight-story multifamily building with three levels of underground parking. It will have 423 market rate units that will replace all existing buildings on the current site, with the exception of two from the Red Lion Hotel that will be used for parking. Amenities for the Elara include a cafe, fitness center, pool, and cold plunge.

The completed building will also be adjacent to one of Northern Virginia's main traffic corridors of Route 50. To those who frequent this highway, keep an eye on this project as it nears the finish line slated for completion in 2027.
