Elizabeth House III will be a 267 unit 10 -15 story mixed-use, mixed-income affordable senior housing apartment building, which will include a Senior Wellness Center run by Holy Cross Hospital and the South County Regional Recreational Center (SCRRAC). In addition there will be a large multi-purpose room, common floor amenities and roof top gardening. The project will include two levels of parking, one of which will be below grade due to sloping topography of the site. A new bike path will be built on the south side of the site, adjacent to the train tracks, and will be consistent with the future Capital Crescent Trail. A pedestrian drop off area will be provided on both Apple Avenue and possibly off of Fenwick Lane, while the garage entrance/exit and loading docks will be located off of Fenwick Lane. The building will focus on holistic wellness and will be designed with an inter-generational connection to nature, promoting resident sense of community. The building will also have public use spaces and a public pool at its base.
