NAIOP Office Building of the Future

Honorable Mention for forward thinking approach and design sensibility in addressing future space utilization trends while considering the impact the office building will have on urban planning, commercial real estate, and the environment. The plan allows easy adaptability to a hotel or residential use in the future if owner needs change. Endless configurations of work space are possible given the column-free floor plan. Thin building floor plates allow maximum access to natural ight and ventilation.
The facade’s shading system prevents unwanted solar gain and eliminates glare from workspaces while maintaining consistent daylighting. Shading elements also harvest solar energy and purify the air through the use of a nanoparticle coating. Sloping green roofs cover retail & conference space at the base, and provide a walkable transition between street, elevated public greenspace, and the metro platform.
