Since joining KGD Architecture in 2006, Alex Shifflett has gained valuable experience on various base building projects across the DC Metropolitan Area. Responsible for overseeing projects from design through construction, she manages drawing production in Revit, consultant coordination, and construction administration on complex projects. She has worked with developers, non-profit, and private sector clients on projects ranging from speculative office buildings to multi-family residential.
Alex is well-known for her sense of humor and determination to get things done. She is committed to achieving client satisfaction and maintaining clear lines of communication throughout project development and building construction. Some of her most recent projects include the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation Headquarters in Dulles, Virginia, Modera Tempo in Alexandria, Virginia, and Elizabeth Square in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Internally, Alex is an essential member of the Standards Committee that focuses on developing and maintaining the company’s drawings standards. The Committee is responsible for building and managing a library of details to support all types of projects from Interiors to Base building. Alex is also a member of the Social Committee which organizes happy hours and social events for the office to encourage a fun and inviting studio culture.
